This 8-hr course combines our Suture & Procedure workshop with our Dermatology workshop.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe types of wound closures and appropriate applications
- Demonstrate suture and staple closure of wounds
- Peform joint reductions
- Perform finger procedures (paronychia drainage, subungual hematoma, etc)
- Remove foreign bodies
- Perform I&D
- Document appropriately and follow up care

Diagnose common skin complaints and the appropriate treatment

Diagnose urgent/emergent skin conditions and proper referral

Discuss and choose proper lesion management (biopsy, cryo, mohrs, monitor, referral, etc)

Learn and demonstrate various types of biopsies (punch, shave, etc)

Discuss proper documentation and follow up care
SUTURE & PROCEDURE WORKSHOP $500
This course is from 10AM-2PM CST.
This is a one day 4-hr course.
This course is designed for current students, recent graduates and experienced providers who want to expand their suture & procedure knowledge.
During this course, you will learn:
- Wound closure including sutures, staples, adhesive, tape and more.
- Anesthesia choices and applications
- Simple interrupted and flap suture practice and instruction
- Joint reductions (nursemaid elbow and digits)
- Finger procedures (paronychia drainage, subungual hematoma, etc)
- Removal of foreign bodies from skin, eyes, ears, nose, etc.
- Perform I & D
- Clinical Pearls
- Documentation and follow up care
Included supplies: suture pad, suture tools (hemostats, needle driver, scissors, tweezers), 5 sets of sutures, stapler, staple remover, steri-strips, wound adhesive, syringes and needles, and scalpel.

DERMATOLOGY WORKSHOP $500

This is a one day 4-hr course
This workshop is designed for curent students, recent graduates and experienced providers wanting to expand their knowledge of dermatology.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe skin lesions using correct terminology
- Diagnose common skin complaints and the appropriate treatment
- Diagnose urgent/emergent skin conditions and proper referral
- Discuss and choose proper lesion management (biopsy, cryo, mohrs, monitor, referral, etc)
- Learn and demonstrate various types of biopsies (punch, shave, etc)
- Discuss proper documentation and follow up care
Included supplies: skin-like pad and biopsy tools.

Supplies included for each student: suture pad, suture tools (hemostats, needle driver, scissors, tweezers), 5 sets of sutures, stapler, staple remover, steri-strips, wound adhesive, syringes and needles, scalpel and biopsy tools (punch, shave). These supplies are for the student to keep and practice.
Students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of this course.
